[FAQs]

Q: What type of account should I apply for?

A: International students in UK normally set up Current accounts for their banking needs

Q: Format for my full name on my bank letter does not match that of my identity document. What should I do?

A: Note that not all banks mandate that the applicant's full name formats must match the identification documents. If required, head to the University student services and request a remark on your bank letter to verify that the different name formats are for the same person

Q: Can I use an international debit card to withdraw cash or make transactions?

A: Depends on the bank. It is best to check with your card issuing bank before leaving the country

Q: Can I open an account at the bank instead of online?

A: Since COVID, most banks encourage accounts to be opened online. For most face-to-face settings, they usually insist you must make an appointment first (online or by phone)
